Top issues during term (5)
city council vacancy
Filling the seat is mostly an administrative process, so don’t expect a big hit to your wallet.
mayoral election
No direct budget hit from the election itself, but the new mayor will help steer city spending priorities.
short-term rental regulation
Hosts may face new licensing, compliance, or fee costs, while the city may take on enforcement expenses.
zoning approval - Riverside Park wedding venue
Taxpayers aren’t directly on the hook, but the city may see venue fees while nearby residents could bear noise and traffic costs—and the park’s free public use gets a little less free.
First Amendment challenge to proposed ordinance
Taxpayers could get stuck with legal bills and staff time if this turns into a courtroom fight.
